Financing
Career Development Loans
Career Development Loans (CDL) are designed to help pay for vocational learning. During the period of the course and up to one month afterwards the Department for Education and Skills (DfES) pays the interest on the loan. You then repay the loan over an agreed period at a fixed rate of interest. You can borrow between £300 and £8,000 with a CDL.
Since its launch in 1988 tens of thousands of people have taken advantage of this opportunity to invest in vocational learning. It can be used for full or part-time courses as long as they are vocational and last no longer than two years, plus up to one year’s practical experience if it is part of the course. Once you complete your course you must intend to work in the UK or EU.
For information on financial assistance to support your learning, please visit www.direct.gov.uk/adultlearning or contact 0800 100 900.
Note: if you are in employment and would like to take on a course whilst still employed, you are able to spread the training over a period of a year to 18 months to suit your needs. Contact us to find out more.
Resettlement allowance for service leavers
The IRTC grant you will receive is for resettlement purposes only. All of our courses will qualify for your entitlement to utilise your IRTC grant.
Our team has over ten years of combined experience in dealing with the resettlement of military personnel and can guide you through the resettlement process providing all necessary financial paperwork for you to make a claim. Our courses are provided as a package including accommodation and VAT.
Please note that it is your responsibility to fund the cost of the course while you await your reimbursement.
Enhanced Learning Credits
Enhanced Learning Credits (ELC) are for service personnel who have at least four years eligible service. You are entitled to make a single claim in any one year of up to £1000. However, you will have a total of £3,000 over a 10 year period from which you can claim. We are an Approved Learning Provider under the ELC scheme and several of our courses are level three or above and therefore qualify for ELC entitlements.
